Texans and Californians are making some of the best doughnuts in the country. At Round Rock Donuts, outside of Austin, they coat their pre-fried dough rings with a honey glaze that give the final doughnuts a richer color.

2. Randy's Donuts
in Los Angeles, Calif.
Randy's seems to be the king of all doughnut-related media. The giant, iconic doughnut perched atop the store is a beacon for doughnut hunters and has been featured on numerous TV, magazine and blog sites.

WTF@?#?Anyone who knows donuts knows that Donut Man in Glendora, California, is in a class by itself, especially for its seasonal strawberry and peach donuts made with only the finest of fruit and each weighing in at close to a pound. Every ingredient used is superior quality. Donut Man has been written up in books, magazines and newspapers worldwide.

Stan's is notable for its variety and above-average donuts. Randy's is notable more for its architecture than its donuts.

Donut Man is absolutely the best. Quality contol is the key using finest and freshest ingredients. I wish it opens another store in Westwood so that I don't have to drive long way.
