The area stretching from the Texas Metroplex to northern Louisiana has enjoyed Southern Maid for over 70 years. In fact, the only product commercial Elvis ever did was for Southern Maid in 1954 as part of their sponsorship of the Louisiana Hayride Show in Shreveport, La.

Another Louisiana tradition can be found in the Big Easy. The world-famous Cafe du Monde makes beignets, French doughnuts. They smother the puffy treats with powdered sugar while still warm for a taste explosion.
