If your child shows a penchant for creativity -- especially on computers -- consider taking them to the nearest Apple Store. Several Apple retail stores will be hosting workshops for kids in several different areas. Your filmmaker child can make a short film on their laptop or your musical child might make beautiful music. Workshops are free but each kid will need to bring certain supplies so check before you go and find out if your local store is offering these classes.
Free Bowling For Kids
If your young bowler is looking for something affordable to do this summer, consider checking out KidsBowlFree.com. You'll be able to get information on participating bowling centers offering two free games to children each day. Many of these locations want to give back to their local community and provide a safe place for local kids to spend their summers. If you are or know of a local kid -- they could benefit. But check before you go because each center has age limits in place.
The Arts For Everyone
For families who love museums, plays and more, Target has something for you. In an attempt to make the arts available to everyone, the department store is sponsoring local events -- and possibly some in your town. From free museum tours, to botanical garden visits and much more, you could enjoy something very beautiful with your family for free, thanks to Target. Check out the list of great sponsored events here.
Free & Cheap Movie Tickets
While movie ticket prices continue to soar, selected Regal and AMC Theatres will be giving families a break this summer. While school's out, Regal will hold their Free Family Film Fest. Parents and kids get in for free to see G & PG movies at 10 AM every Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile, AMC's Summer MovieCamp invite kids to their participating theatres for movies every Wednesday morning at 10 AM -- and it's only a $1. Make sure you check with your local theatre for age limits and more information.
Salute Our Heroes
In an effort to salute the men and women who serve our country, Budweiser is sponsoring free trips to any SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place theme parks. Members of the military and their families can take a trip to any one of these fun places and gain complimentary admission. It's all to thank them for their sacrifice.
We hope you have a fun, cheap summer and good travels to you!
