Food on a Stick Coming to a State Fair Near You

State fairs are one of America's favorite summer pastimes. Aside from playing the carnival games and riding the scary roller coasters, one of the most fun things to do is to nosh on the various kinds of highly caloric food on a stick.

It's not just fried cheese sticks and ice cream bars that get speared on a wooden stick anymore. These days food vendors are bent on coming up with the most imaginative options.

This year's Wisconsin State Fair managed to create a few interesting options for fair attendees, and they likely to be replicated at upcoming fairs. Who can resist a friend peanut butter and jelly sandwich on a stick? Or how about a greasy bacon strip dipped in chocolate?

Other tempting items include fried mac and cheese on a stick, deep-fried Spam on a stick, and even deep-fried Pepsi (funnel cake with Pepsi flavoring). For those who want more sugar, there's deep-fried Tootsie rolls on a stick. If that's not enough, there's always fried chocolate cake on a stick.

Here are some current and upcoming state fairs where you can find lots of food on sticks:
